MANILA, Philippines — The Choco Mucho Flying Titans opened their 2026-27 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on a high note after outlasting the Capital 1 Solar Spikers in a five-set thriller, 22-25, 18-25, 25-17, 25-20, 15-8, on Saturday afternoon at the SM Seaside Cebu Arena. Down by two sets to none, the Flying Titans evened out the match as Eya Laure fueled a third and fourth-set comeback, finishing with 17 points on 17 attacks. Sisi Rondina-Rosales led the charge in the final canto, allowing Choco Mucho to enjoy a 13-7 advantage, then Laure slammed a kill for the match point advantage, 14-7. After Choco Mucho’s error, Pia Abbu made a costly service error that handed the victory to the Flying Titans, 15-8. “Coming off from the national team, you can see Bella [Belen] and Vanie [Gandler] in their growth; we are so happy that we can show what we can do. I am grateful for the support from the Cebuanos,” Laure said after the match. Despite the pressure put on Vanie Gandler, Bella Belen, and Erika Santos on Capital 1’s side, Choco Mucho rose to the occasion and made sure to leave their fans in Cebu rejoicing.
