Three Independent Health Systems Join TPC as Members

Valley Medical Center & Clinics, Mid-America Service Solutions Owners Nebraska Methodist Health System and Salina Regional Health Center expand performance improvement company members to 10 nationwide

Plano, Texas Oct 15, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - TPC, the performance improvement company built exclusively for independent health systems, welcomes three additional members, extending the group's geographic reach into the Pacific Northwest and the Central Plains areas of the United States. Valley Medical Center & Clinics (Renton, Washington), Salina Regional Health Center (Salina, Kansas) and Nebraska Methodist Health System (Omaha, Nebraska) grow TPC's membership to 10 independent health systems representing $6.7 billion in combined annual net patient revenue.

Over the past decade, TPC members have documented more than $825 million in validated savings and performance improvement. TPC's model combines strategic sourcing, revenue cycle performance improvement and clinical performance improvement with shared analytics, benchmarking and disciplined execution -- value that is documented, realized and retained by each member.

"Independence is a competitive advantage and Valley, Salina and Methodist are exceptionally strong independent organizations with clear strategies and deep community roots," said Geoff Brenner, President and CEO of TPC. "They are joining TPC because they want measurable results such as lower costs, stronger revenue and higher clinical quality, while continuing to retain local control and identity. And at this time when we are deploying innovative frontier AI models across our platform, members will see that impact to their bottom line in a much shorter time."

Methodist and Salina Regional join TPC as the owners of Mid-America Service Solutions (MSS), the Kansas-based supply chain aggregation group founded in 2008 and now combining with TPC. For nearly two decades, MSS has brought independent health systems across the Central Plains and Midwest together to achieve the scale, contract portfolio and shared discipline of a much larger organization. Now, the health systems that have participated in MSS will be welcomed into the TPC platform and governance, strengthening all member organizations.

"Independent health systems should not have to choose between maintaining local control and having access to the scale, expertise and innovation of a much larger organization," said Shane Plymell, Chair of TPC's Board of Managers and President and CEO of Shannon Health. "That conviction is at the heart of TPC. The addition of Valley, Methodist and Salina brings three exceptional health systems into an organization where every member has an equal voice and a shared commitment to measurable results. Together, we are demonstrating that independence and collaboration are not competing priorities, but powerful advantages when combined."

Additionally, TPC, MSS and Valley shared a common strategic sourcing partner, Vizient, enabling the three new health systems to join TPC with continuity across many of their contract portfolios and supplier relationships. They will also benefit from TPC-optimized GPO agreements, sourcing enhancements, revenue cycle, clinical performance and analytics capabilities that carry TPC's value well beyond sourcing alone.

TPC is among the first healthcare performance improvement organizations to successfully deploy advanced AI models, operating within a private, secure environment, to more than 16 years of sourcing, revenue cycle and clinical performance data across its membership. The proprietary AI Innovations Lab at TPC is accelerating identification and implementation, delivering measurable outcomes for all 10 members.

Marking TPC's expansion into the Pacific Northwest, Valley Medical Center & Clinics, Washington state's oldest and largest public hospital district, serves more than 625,000 residents of South King County. "This new partnership with TPC strengthens our independence through greater scale and capabilities, bringing together independent hospitals with a shared commitment to high-quality care, innovation, and broad collaboration. It's a powerful example of how independence can create new opportunities to be stronger together," said Jeannine Erickson Grinnell, CEO of Valley Medical Center & Clinics. "I appreciate that every member has an equal voice, and the value it delivers is documented and validated rather than just promised."

The Omaha-based Nebraska Methodist Health System extends TPC's reach into Nebraska and Iowa, adding an established regional health system with a network of hospitals and clinics and a long record of leadership within MSS. "Methodist has served Omaha, Council Bluffs and Fremont for more than a century as an independent, community-focused health system, and we intend to keep it that way," said Josie Abboud, President and CEO of Nebraska Methodist Health System. "Through MSS we learned what independent systems can accomplish together. Combining MSS with TPC carries that work forward with the scale and sourcing discipline of a larger system, alongside peers who share our values, and it gives our teams a seat at the table in how that platform is governed."

Salina Regional Health Center extends TPC's presence into Kansas, bringing an integrated health system with hospitals, clinics and specialty services for communities throughout North Central Kansas. Salina Regional has also anchored MSS in Salina since its founding. "As a community-owned health system, we need the capabilities and resources of a larger organization while remaining independent - the same principle on which MSS was built," said Joel Phelps, President and CEO of Salina Regional Health Center. "TPC gives us access to those capabilities, including proven performance improvement in revenue cycle and clinical quality as well as greater purchasing power through the ability to leverage the scale and resources of a larger organization. These advantages help us operate more efficiently while continuing to deliver high-quality care to the communities we serve."

Each organization takes part in TPC's member governance and committees, in which every member system has an equal voice regardless of size, collaborating with other health systems on shared initiatives while retaining local control over its operations. "Working together as one, TPC's members bring the system mindset of a large, multi-state, integrated health system to the challenges each faces locally," said Brenner. "TPC is honored to carry forward the legacy of MSS and the community of independent health systems that Salina and Methodist have led with such distinction. We're independent by design and stronger together."

Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia could be postponed but 'no hurry' to decide — AFC

ZURICH — The Asian Cup scheduled for January in Saudi Arabia could be moved back a year to 2028 "if we need to," the continent's top football official said, following a series of Houthi attacks on the country. But AFC president Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim al-Khalifa also said they were in "no hurry" to make a decision over Asia's premier football tournament. The 2027 Asian Cup is supposed to kick off on January 7 in the Saudi cities of Jeddah, Riyadh and Al Khobar. The kingdom has in recent days come under sustained attack in a dramatic escalation in the war with the Iran-backed Houthi group. "We can wait until the end of November," the Asian Football Confederation president told reporters in Zurich on Wednesday about a decision on the fate of the Asian Cup. "Things can change very quickly for better or worse in the region and it is a question of seeing what happens," he added. "If we need to make a decision then we will, but we could move back a year to 2028 if we need to. "But at the moment we are monitoring the situation and everything is on schedule." Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr saw their Asian Champions League match delayed by an hour on Monday after the Saudi-led military coalition said it had intercepted a missile fired towards Riyadh. Three matches in Saudi domestic football, including one involving Al Nassr, were this week postponed. The exhibition Six Kings Slam tennis tournament, due to include Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev, was pushed back to the end of December. Australia, one of the 24 teams set to play at the Asian Cup, said this week it was "closely monitoring" the situation in Saudi Arabia. The organization representing South Korean players on Thursday said there was "serious concern regarding the safety of all players participating in the Asian Cup." "The ongoing military tensions and security instability in the Middle East are issues that cannot be taken lightly," said Lee Keun-ho, president of the Korea Professional Footballers Association (KPFA), according to Yonhap News Agency. Lee added that "no tournament's value can take precedence over the lives and safety of players and football fans."

NCAA: Generals snap Blazers’ 4-game win streak

MANILA, Philippines — Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) overcame a 19-point deficit against College of Saint Benilde, 86-78, to tally its third win in the crossover round of the NCAA Season 102 men’s basketball tournament on Thursday afternoon at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City. The EAC Generals came off back-to-back losses at the hands of Jose Rizal University and Mapua University—and showed that they learned their lessons this time after defeating Group A’s top team, Benilde. Down by 19 points at the second quarter, 54-35, the Generals staged a comeback in the third quarter after trimming the lead to just three at the end of the third, 70-73, with Wilmar Oftana, Joseph Nunag, and Harvae Raymundo leading the charge. Heading to the fourth quarter, the Generals opened the frame strong with EJ Castillo scoring a two-pointer followed by Wilmar Oftana’s three to gain the lead, 75-73. From then on, EAC did not look back and did not allow the Blazers to take the upper hand, finishing the match with an 86-78 scorecard. “We like the underdog tag, because it’s true we are 2-5 in the standings heading to this game, and I told them that we should do whatever it takes and overcome any challenges,” head coach Jerson Cabiltes said during the post-game presser. Nunag led the scoring for the Generals with 17 points, five rebounds, and three steals, while veteran Oftana, Jacob Shanoda, and Castillo added 15, 13, and 12 points each. The Blazers were led by Justine Sanchez and John Morales, who both chipped in 16 points, along with Jhomel Ancheta and SJ Moore, who scored 14 and 11 points, respectively, but it was not enough to overcome the Generals. EAC improved to a 3-5 win-loss record in Group B, while the Blazers fell to 6-2.

Rory McIlroy arrives in India with a new fashion style and renewed hope in Race to Dubai finale

NEW DELHI — Since completing the career Grand Slam, Rory McIlroy has been constantly looking for new ways to inject some freshness and spark into his golf. Turns out two of his longtime Ryder Cup teammates are providing some inspiration. For this week’s DP World India Championship, McIlroy has brought along a new look — baggy golf pants. After all, Tommy Fleetwood has been wearing them for a while. “I have watched and I have admired Tommy Fleetwood over the past year,” McIlroy said, with a smile, on Wednesday's DP World Locker Room show about his style that has generated plenty of chatter in New Delhi this week. “And in my everyday life, when I don’t have to wear what is my golf uniform, I wear a lot of wide-legged pants. It is the in-thing, the fashionable thing.” But how, McIlroy was asked, do they feel to play golf in? “These hit a little low, maybe a little short … I understand they are maybe not as well-fitting as they need to be,” he said, “but they are a work in progress.” Also in the works for the Northern Irishman is a replica of what he calls his “performance trailer” that he uses in the United States to aid his fitness and recovery during and between PGA Tour events, in an effort to gain an edge over rivals. Now, he wants one for when he plays on the European tour, too. McIlroy said that idea came from tennis great Novak Djokovic but also fellow golfer Justin Rose. “I decided to pull the trigger on it when Justin won in Memphis last year,” McIlroy said. “He’s 45 years old, playing great, contending in major championships, and at that time I was 36. I was like, I want to play really well for the next 10 years — I feel like I need to do something like this.” McIlroy hopes to have that up and running by the summer of 2027 — by which time, who knows, he might have a record-tying eighth Order of Merit title that crowns the year’s No. 1 player on the European tour. There are four events remaining in this season’s Race to Dubai and McIlroy will play in three of them, starting in India. He is third in the standings, behind Patrick Reed and Eugenio Chacarra, but there's little between the three players and plenty of points on offer in the season-ending events in India, South Korea, Abu Dhabi and finally Dubai. While Reed has stumbled of late thanks to an injury-prompted withdrawal at the BMW PGA Championship and a missed cut at the Spanish Open, Chacarra is finishing fast by climbing above McIlroy thanks to a tie for third at the French Open and a tie for second in Spain. “It’s still anyone’s game,” Reed said Wednesday. The American said he was swinging freely after the shoulder injury he sustained at Wentworth. He didn't play in France or at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and returned to shoot 73-71 in Spain, failing to make the weekend. “For me, I was itching about getting back and getting out and playing,” Reed said. “Did I come back too early? Who knows. At the end of the day the good thing is I can’t hurt it worse, and because of that, I have the confidence and the comfort level to come out here and execute and perform at the highest level.”
