The Dot Theory Launches the Bay Area’s First Microneedling Membership

Oct 15, 2026

Skin fitness comes to San Mateo. The Dot Theory launches the Bay Area’s first microneedling membership, turning collagen remodeling into a steady monthly ritual with honest timelines, so lasting results are no longer reserved for the few who can splurge.

San Mateo, United States, October 15, 2026 /PressCable/ -- The Dot Theory, a microneedling studio in downtown San Mateo, today announced the launch of the Bay Area’s first microneedling membership on November 1, 2026. The program is built on a simple idea the studio calls skin fitness: skin responds to consistency the way muscle responds to reps. Its goal is to make collagen remodeling, long treated as an occasional splurge, an accessible, ongoing part of everyday self-care.

Collagen makes up about 75% of the skin’s dry weight and is the structure that keeps skin firm, even and resilient. The body’s ability to make it starts slowing in the mid-twenties, and the losses add up quietly. Studies show women lose about 30% of their skin collagen in the first five years after menopause alone.

Microneedling works by creating thousands of controlled micro-channels in the skin. Each one is a small, deliberate signal to rebuild. The skin responds with a natural wound-healing cascade that produces new collagen and elastin. A widely cited 2008 study by Aust et al. found up to a 400% increase in collagen and elastin deposition six months after a series of four treatments.

The key word is series. New collagen takes weeks to form and months to mature, and the remodeling phase can continue for up to a year. One session starts the process. Consistent sessions are what sustain it.

“Most people treat microneedling like a crash diet: one big push before an event, then nothing for a year,” said Sirivisa Casper, Co-founder of The Dot Theory. “Collagen doesn’t work that way. It rewards consistency. We built a membership because the biology asks for a rhythm, and the pricing should make that rhythm realistic.”

In the Bay Area, a single microneedling session often costs several hundred dollars, and a full remodeling series can run into the thousands when paid up front. For many people, that puts lasting results out of reach, or turns a treatment that should be ongoing into a one-time event.

The Dot Theory’s membership spreads that investment into predictable monthly pricing. It pairs every visit with a nurse-led plan, so members can treat their skin the way they’d treat a fitness routine. Memberships include:

Reset Membership, 237/mo which always includes treatment of face, an HA booster, LED red light therapy, and a cryo contouring finish

Reset+, $267/mo: face, neck and full décolleté microneedling, an HA booster, LED red light therapy, and a cryo contouring finish.

Every visit follows the studio’s five-movement ritual, starting with a one-on-one consult where members and their nurse shape the session around their goals.

Making collagen remodeling more accessible changes more than how people look. Preventive, maintenance-level care tends to cost less and carry less risk than corrective treatment later on. When people can afford to treat their skin consistently, they’re less likely to wait until changes feel urgent, and less likely to chase aggressive, high-cost interventions to make up for lost time.

There’s a trust effect too. The Dot Theory’s philosophy of “nothing oversold” means explaining what microneedling actually does, how long it really takes, and when it isn’t the right move. A membership model aligns the studio’s success with the member’s long-term results, not one-time sales.

“Access and honesty go together,” said Sirivisa. “When someone isn’t paying for one expensive appointment and hoping for a miracle, we can have a real conversation about timelines. That’s how people actually get results.”

Skin fitness comes to San Mateo. The Dot Theory is a membership-based microneedling studio that treats skin like something that needs training, with a plan, a steady rhythm and honest timelines, so results build one ritual at a time instead of all at once. Learn more at thedtstudios.com.

Yolanda Hopkins upsets World No. 3 Gabriela Bryan to reach WSL Championship Tour Philippines Pro quarterfinals

MANILA, Philippines —  World No. 14 Yolanda Hopkins pulled off a major reversal, knocking out World No. 3 Gabriela Bryan to advance to the quarterfinals of the inaugural World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour Philippines Pro at the iconic Cloud 9 reef break in Siargao on Saturday. Hopkins came through in Heat 2 of the women's competition, posting a combined score of 10.10 from waves worth 5.27 and 4.83 to eliminate the highly-ranked American and arrange a quarterfinal showdown with World No. 6 Caitlin Simmers in the event presented by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), with the support of Surigao del Norte Gov. Robert Lyndon Barbers, General Luna Mayor Johnson Sajulga and Vice Mayor Romina Sajulga. Bryan, finished ninth with a total of 7.00, combining scores of 4.00 and 3.00 to collect 2,000 championship points. The competition unfolded under four- to six-foot waves, giving the world's best surfers challenging conditions to display their skills, while calm winds helped maintain a steady lineup. Also making her way into the quarterfinals was Simmers, who dominated fellow American and World No. 11 Caroline Marks in their opening-round encounter. Simmers posted an impressive 15.17 on a 9.00 and a 6.17. Marks could only managed 9.00 from waves scoring 5.50 and 3.50 and likewise settled for ninth place with 2,000 championship points. Beyond her impressive performance, Simmers expressed her admiration for Cloud 9, describing the famed Siargao break as one of her favorite surfing destinations because of the technical challenges and opportunities it offers.  “Honestly, I keep telling people it's one of my favorite waves on the planet because it's just really tight, and you kind of have to do some exciting things in the spaces you get. It's pretty hard to just do your stock-standard couple of turns on it,” said Simmers. The American explained that Cloud 9 demands creativity and precise timing, as its changing sections can force surfers to adjust their approach while looking for opportunities to execute difficult maneuvers. She also singled out the wave's end section as a promising spot for aerial moves, expressing hope that the world's top female surfers would take advantage of the opportunity to showcase their skills. “I think I'm just hoping all the girls do airs because these are the best surfers in the world, best women in the world. And I know every single one of them can do an air on that end section. It's just a matter of timing, really,” she said. Simmers believes the challenging but rewarding nature of Cloud 9 could produce spectacular performances as the competition progresses, particularly with the world's best women surfers battling for a place in the next round. The event is also supported by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), and NEA/SIARELCO. Delos Santos sets new junior world records in Ningbo

MANILA, Philippines — Albert Ian Delos Santos finished out of the podium in the 2026 IWF World Weightlifting Championships, but delivered a promising performance by shattering two junior world records in the men’s 70-kilogram (kg) division in Ningbo, China. The 20-year-old Asian Junior champion came off a bronze finish in the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, and was not over in setting new records as he eclipsed his previous world junior record He lifted a total of 331kg, built on 144kg in the snatch and 187kg in the clean and jerk. to surpass his previous total lift of 324kg that he made in the Asian Games. He also eclipsed his own record in the clean and jerk of 183kg. To put the 331 kg total into perspective, it is almost equivalent to the weight of a standard grand piano, an average commercial soda vending machine, or about 11 golden retrievers. First Filipina Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz formerly lauded Delos Santos and knew that he was meant to reach greater heights “Ian is one of our future Olympian gold medalist in the Philippines, as you can see he’s a junior world record holder, then he won here at 20 years old, competing in Asian Games, and it’s his first time,” Diaz told the media during Delos Santos bronze finish in Asiad.   “He is one of a kind, and I can’t describe how brave he is,” she added. North Korea took the top two spots, with Pak Pyol winning gold with a world-record total of 355 kilograms, while Ri Won Ju took silver with 343 kg, and China’s He Baozhen rounded out the podium with bronze, lifting 339 kg. Although he fell short of a medal, Delos Santos delivered one of the competition’s standout performances, improving his own junior records against some of the world’s top lifters. Delos Santos is expected to move up to the 75-kilogram category for the IWF qualifying competition in Qatar in December as he continues his international campaign.
