Script TV is bent on redefining the future of TV and film by bringing live television to blockchain

Sep 14, 2021

Script TV brings the first linear TV and film experience on the blockchain, solving shortcomings within the centralized media space, including middlemen and slow payouts on the content partners side and the lack of rewards for consuming content on the user side.

September 13, 2021 —

Script TV is out to revolutionize the industry after becoming the first-of-its-kind Internet TV platform whereby both users and content publishers earn from video streams.

With an innovative move to bring live television to the blockchain, Script TV features on-chain rewards through Non-fungible tokens (NFTs), gifts, and tokens by watching content every hour.

“With television progressively turning into a cord-cutting, digital experience, Script TV is laser-focused on delivering a unique experience, using blockchain technology,” says Jonatan Menghisteab, Co-founder at Script TV.

The platform is also the first to allow users to interact with content partners, earn real-life benefits, and activations into the metaverse, all on one platform.

Script TV is built on Script blockchain, a reliable and high-quality video publishing platform using its own technology.

Using a decentralized infrastructure, Script TV provides a video platform tailored to what incumbent content applications need.

Jonatan says Script TV aims to build industry-defining, cultural-shifting technology from inception.

This is why the company has built protocols and architecture on its own blockchain, giving capabilities and interoperability to its users, content partners, and brands.

Script TV has led the charge in eliminating the need for any middlemen in the industry.

With the platform’s decentralized protocols, Jonatan says that frustrating common issues in the industry like payments and data are all distributed automatically, without any disruption throughout the year.

In addition, blockchain brings an end to the unnecessary red tape in regards to transparency, immutability, and traceability.

Users can choose from more than 30 originally curated channels. From feature films to animation, they can choose from a range of content available to them, 24/7 and completely free.

Users then stream and interact with like-minded fans of shows and TV series. They can become a Script node in minutes and earn money by simply watching content.

Script TV offers multi-verse awards, where users get to earn $SPAY tokens, live on the spot rewards, loyalty benefits, utility NFTs, and rewards that are redeemable offline, like cinema tickets and access to festivals and events.

Script TV plans to increase the adoption of video on blockchain to the broader community by creating a user experience free from jargon or difficulty for those new to this technology.

“Apart from this, we wanted to ensure our platform allows users to get significant benefits, rewards, and earnings on the app, in the metaverse and offline,” says Jonatan.

Those who want to take part in the presale or early rounds may visit the “Join Whitelist” button on the token website and fill out the steps as soon as possible.

Script TV says more information will be relayed in its Discord and Telegram announcements channel.

Users may also visit the Script TV website to learn more about the industry-defining technology brought by the platform.

First PH Olympian figure skater announces return to competition

Michael Christian Martinez, the country’s first Olympian figure skater, announced on Monday night that he is returning to active competition. “Anyway… I’m competing again. Good luck, knees,” Martinez said in a Facebook post. The 29-year-old Martinez said he will take part in the 2026 Philippine National Figure Skating Championships and hoped to return to international competition next year. “Honestly, I never thought I’d be making this announcement again. It’s been years since I last competed, and since then, life has changed a lot. I’ve been able to do other things, focus more on coaching, and help younger skaters with their own competitive journey,” he wrote. “But one thing I kept getting asked over the years was, When are you competing again? or Are you ever coming back? And my answer was always… probably not. But somehow people kept asking, and I guess a part of me also started wondering… why not? So after a lot of thinking and a lot of convincing (and by a lot, I really mean A LOT), I finally said yes. I’m competing again,” Martinez added. Martinez said he wanted to keep things simple and not try to recreate his days at the Olympics. “This time, I really just want to enjoy competing again. No big expectations, no unnecessary pressure. I’m also keeping things simple. Not trying to recreate my Olympic days. Just training, skating, competing, and hopefully having fun doing it again… Of course, I still have a few personal goals I want to accomplish. But we’ll get to those eventually. For now, I’m just happy to be back,” the two-time Olympian wrote. “I honestly don’t know how far this comeback will go, and maybe that’s what makes it exciting. One competition at a time. Let’s just see what happens. See you at Nationals,” he said. Martinez represented the Philippines in men’s figure skating at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia and also in the 2018 games in PyeongChang, South Korea. Following his Olympic stints, he has since become a content creator under the name MZ Viral. He suffered multiple injuries, hampering his training.
