Plano, Texas Sep 8, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - RCG, LLC, an innovative, purpose-driven firm committed to the creation of affordable housing in urban areas to underserved markets, today announced it has launched a Series A round of financing. Malibu Holdings seeded the investment round with participation from Dr. Ron D. Ford. The investment will further the company's aggressive expansion of its support for its portfolio. Dr. Ford will join RCG's board of directors.

Malibu Holdings supports early-stage startups that redefine or create large new markets, with such notable ventures as Quixote Studios, Smashbox Cosmetics, Think Thin Nutrition, JMB Model Management, and St. Clair Entertainment.

The Series A financing builds on an exceptional start-up of RCG which is rapidly growing. RCG, intends to increase the development of energy efficient, new high quality affordable and accessible housing, and will work diligently to preserve the existing viable housing stock in City of Muskogee, Liberty City, TX, and Dallas/Fort Worth Texas targeting low-and moderate-income communities, and majority minority neighborhoods.

Within three - five years, RCG, LLC intends to expand program and service area to include other urban Texas cities (Houston, Austin, San Antonio) that have a high propensity for the need of affordable housing and economic disenfranchisement and/or lack of investment in the identified areas.

RCG has applied for its U.S. Department of the Treasury, Community Development Financial Institution (CFDI) certification and is pending approval. Certified CDFIs are eligible to apply for awards through a variety of programs offered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury CDFI Fund. These awards will enable RCG to provide mortgage lending for first-time homebuyers, flexible underwriting for community facilities, and commercial loans for businesses in low-income areas.

Delos Santos claims bronze in Asian Games debut

YOUNG blood Albert Ian Delos Santos made a grand entrance in his Asian Games debut, setting new junior World and Asian records to capture the bronze medal in the men’s 70-kilogram weightlifting event at the Nagoya City Trade and Industry Centre in Japan. As the youngest competitor in the nine-man field, the promising weightlifter lifted a total of 324 kg—154 kg in the snatch and 183 kg in the clean and jerk—to secure his spot on the podium. Underdog Alas faces tough South Korea

THE Alas Pilipinas men’s national volleyball team faces a steep uphill battle as it opens its 2026 Asian Games campaign against a formidable South Korean squad on Sunday at the Park Arena Komaki in Komaki, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The game is set at 12 noon (Manila time). Slated in Pool D alongside South Korea, China and Taiwan, Alas Pilipinas must secure at least two victories to finish among the top two in the pool and advance to the quarterfinals. Currently ranked 114th in the world, the underdog Philippine team will need Italian head coach Angiolino Frigoni to work his tactical magic against higher-ranked opponents—South Korea (25th), China (34th), and Taiwan (55th). Nevertheless, Alas aims to defy the odds by drawing confidence from its historic FIVB World Championship victory over then-World No. 21 Egypt. To mount its campaign, the national squad has retained its full FIVB World Championship roster.
