HomeStackered has launched termite inspection and extermination services in Pasadena ahead of the annual swarming season for the light southeastern subterranean termite, the arid-land subterranean termite, and other invasive species. The company’s pest control experts are available 24/7 for termite emergencies. The updated exterminator services are available for all types of pests including insects, pigeons, and rodents.

Termite and bedbug inspections and estimates are available for residential and commercial properties. The updated services will include an initial inspection of the building’s interior and exterior to identify pest activity and potential risks.

Once the inspection is complete, areas with pest activity can be treated with safe, all-natural solutions that produce no side effects. Prevention products may also be installed to prevent future infestations. The company uses only animal-friendly products to ensure the safety of pets.

The Pasadena termite control experts suggest ways to prepare for the swarming season that sees increased termite activity across the Greater Houston area. HomeStackered exterminators will continue to monitor the area and adjust their pest-specific treatments to ensure long-term effectiveness. This may include periodic follow-ups and scheduled maintenance.

Due to the health risks of rodent infestations, the company advises that any clients with rodent issues contact them immediately. Rodents carry and spread up to 35 diseases that can be transferred to humans and are one of the most dangerous household pests. Often the diseases carried by rodents are not spread directly through bites or contact, but indirectly through fleas, ticks, or mites.

Experts also recommend getting a termite inspection before purchasing a new property, as many infestations can go unnoticed by homeowners, and the damage is rarely covered by insurance. Termite damage costs Americans more than $5 billion annually, and superficial home inspections can often miss the signs of a termite infestation.

Alex Eala slips one spot to No. 19 in WTA rankings

MANILA, Philippines -- Filipino tennis sensation Alexandra "Alex" Eala slipped one spot to No. 19 in the latest Women's Tennis Association (WTA) official rankings on Monday. Dropping from a career-high rank No. 18, Eala sports 2,241 points with her latest place in the leaderboard. Belgian Elise Mertens leaping from No. 19 to 14 with 2,540 points caused Eala's slight descent. Eala first achieved the No. 18 rank which is also the highest among Southeast Asians in WTA Tour history on August 24. The 21-year-old eclipsed former Southeast Asian stars in Indonesian Yayuk Basuki and Thai Tamarine Tanasugarn who both peaked at No. 19. Basuki reached No. 19 in October 1997 while Tanasugarn matched it in May 2002. Eala reached the No. 18 rank after a fourth-round finish at the Canadian Open and a third-round campaign at the Cincinnati Open. Elena Rybakina (9,696) stayed at the top of the WTA leaderboard followed by Aryna Sabalenka (7,550) and new No. 3 Mirra Andreeva (6,371). Andreeva elevated from No. 5 to No. 3 after a runner-up finish at the China Open. Jessica Pegula (6,225) and Coco Gauff (5,974) rounded out the top five. Meanwhile, Eala was set to start her singles campaign at the 1000 Wuhan Open on Monday evening. Eala was to face Chinese qualifier and world No. 217 Han Shi around 9 p.m. Eala will also see action in doubles with close pal Zeynep Sönmez. The Filipino-Turkish tandem will clash against the Ukrainian duo of Anhelina Kalinina and Dayana Yastremska in the first round likely on Tuesday. Eala and Sönmez last teamed up at the Madrid Open last May in Spain where they made a second-round finish.

Letran braces for surging Mapua in NCAA crossover round

MANILA, Philippines —  Colegio de San Juan de Letran, the Group B leader in the NCAA Season 102 men’s basketball tournament, needs to overcome Mapúa University in the crossover round to retain its hold on top of the standings on Monday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan. The Letran Knights (4-2) look to pick up back-to-back wins when they face the Mapúa Cardinals (3-3) at 3 p.m., followed by Jose Rizal University’s (JRU) (5-1) clash and Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) (2-4) duel at 5 p.m. Playing without Titing Manalili, who suffered a right-knee injury on Friday, Letran must find a way to get past the Cardinals, who are riding a three-game winning streak. Mapúa opened the season with three straight losses but has since bounced back with big wins over San Beda, Arellano, and EAC. Veteran Marc Cuenco led the way in their most recent victory against EAC with 28 points, while Ivan Lazarte added 24. On Letran’s side, Manalili has been a key playmaker. He finished with 23 points and 12 assists in the Knights’ win over Lyceum on Thursday. With him sidelined, Letran will bank on Jimboy Estrada and Denzil Walker to counter Mapúa’s sharpshooting duo of Cuenco and Lazarte. After their clash, the JRU Heavy Bombers look to pick up their fourth straight win against the EAC Generals. The Generals look to play catch up in the standings when they face the tough JRU side. JRU’s Lawrence Mangubat and Chris Hubilla eye to overpower EAC’s duo of EJ Castillo and Wilmar Oftana.
