Parents of teens worry about so many challenges facing their teenagers. In truth there's only this one problem they should worry about. - and good news is - it can be easily solved.

Banbury, United Kingdom - July 7, 2021 /PressCable/ —

Many parents of teenagers struggle with countless teen problems on a daily basis. Negative peer influence, disinterest in school, rudeness, aggression towards parents, disrespect, irresponsibility, susceptibility to crime, drugs, and sexual exploitation, lacking resilience, lack of sound values, lack of foresight, mental health problems and more.

Parenting teenagers’ expert and adolescent psychologist Angela Karanja. says “in truth there’s only one problem that parents of teenagers should be worried about because this is the core of all these other problems and solving it would dissipate so many other problems” . This is definitely good news for many parents of teens.

Karanja says however, in a world so fast changing and challenging the willingness to reflect, adjust and evolve is what is going to not only help parents identify this main problem, but solve it, and consequently dissipate the myriad of parenting teenagers problems, hence achieve their goal of raising remarkable teenagers.

The internet has greatly contributed to a convergence of culture among teenagers. Gone are the days when some parents could successfully protect their teens by controlling who they hang out with. These days, parents of teens can rebuke till their lungs collapse but the great convergence is here, and it’s a force to reckon with. Teenagers from all over the world are thinking alike, behaving alike, making similar demands, and expecting similar outcomes. This has undoubtedly left many parents of teenagers feeling overwhelmed. Research also shows no family is invincible – again gone are the days when with an almost scientific accuracy one could predict which teenagers were headed for the doldrums compared to those who were headed for the peak. Teenagers from all sorts of backgrounds are falling prey to all sort of problems including mental health problems.

This is why this is good news because once this core problem is identified and solved, most other parenting teenagers problems are disabled and dissipated. This can be compared to when a ship has a broken rudder. This ship sways from place to place and no amount of controlling the environment will rescue the situation, the rescue is in repairing the rudder.

Most parents report that their teenagers spend most of their waking and sleeping time in their bedrooms, the once supposed safe sanctuaries are now unfortunately accessible to all persons, both safe and unsafe from all corners of the world at the click of a button. So, it is understandable why many parents of teens would be worried.

To add more sadness to an already severe situation, scary statistics in recent research suggest that 40% of teenagers are lonely. Lonely teenagers are prime prey for crime exploitation, drugs exploitation and sex exploitation and mental health problems.

So, as earlier suggested that most parent-teenage problems originate from ONE MAIN yet SOLVABLE PROBLEM, it is then only fair that parents know what this is and hence uncover the solution to these terrifying teenage problems.

This one main problem is; PARENT-TEEN DISCONNECTION, the root of most if not all parenting teenagers problems. The lack of strong bonds between parents and teenagers.

When teenagers have no strong bonds with their parents, there’s no honesty or trust, no respect for their parents, they don’t listen to parents’ advice, there’s a lack of emotional support from parents. It is this disconnection that leaves teenagers lonely and susceptible to exploitation and mental health problems.

Here’s how parents solve PARENT-TEEN DISCONNECTION and therefore eliminate so many problems. Building strong bonds with their teenagers based on honesty and trust.

Researchers Allen et al and Schofield et al found that that having strong bonds with parents is such so needed and protective factor in adolescent years.

When parents have strong bonds with their teenagers, teens become more willing to listen and in the same breath they are able to express their dreams and desires. In this kind of an emotionally safe environment, parents can transfer and share their wisdom with their teens, and teenagers are receptive and open to learning new ideas. Parents for example are able to teach their teenagers the 5 Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers.

In situation where parents and teenagers have strong bonds, one can see why and how so many problems between parents and teenagers would be eliminated and how it is indeed possible for parents of teens to Raise Remarkable Teenagers without parents losing their minds.

Tabanas carries PH youth to Taiwan

SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD Isabella Tabanas gets her first taste of professional golf when she joins fellow ICTSI-backed amateurs Lisa and Mona Sarines in the Kenda Tire Cup, which gets under way Wednesday at the Taichung International Country Club in Taichung, Taiwan. The NT$4-million championship, the 16th leg of the LPGA of Taiwan Tour, is co-sanctioned by the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour and brings together the leading players from the LPGT and a strong international field. For Tabanas, however, the 54-hole event represents more than just another tournament — it marks her maiden appearance on the TLPGA, giving the promising Cagayan de Oro junior an early opportunity to test her game against seasoned professionals and top amateurs from across Asia. Tabanas, who has committed to play collegiate golf for Texas A&M University-Kingsville, is the latest addition to ICTSI’s growing stable of young players being given assistance and international exposure as part of a long-term program aimed at developing golfers capable of competing on the world stage. She will be joined by the Sarines twins, Lisa and Mona, who are also regarded as among the promising young talents in Philippine golf. The sisters have made early strides as junior golfers, gaining valuable experience in local and international competitions and steadily building the credentials that have marked them as potential future players on the LPGT. The three youngsters will have plenty to learn from the seasoned Filipina pros in the field, led by ICTSI-backed Yvon Bisera and Princess Superal, and Harmie Constantino, while also getting a firsthand look at the level required to compete successfully on the professional circuit. Kiara Montebon, 20, is also on the ICTSI roster. An incoming Biology junior, she competes for Chicago State University in US NCAA Division I. Tabanas hails from Cagayan de Oro and regularly plays at Del Monte Golf Club and Pueblo de Oro. She has competed in several tournaments in the United States since 2023 and continued her rise with a successful campaign in the FCG Collegiate Series Spring Classic at Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook, California last April. She heads into her first TLPGA tournament with enthusiasm and a clear development goal, hoping to sharpen her short game and improve her recovery shots around the green. Her presence, together with that of the Sarines twins, underscores the continuing push to give the country’s next generation of golfers meaningful exposure beyond junior competition.
