The center now offers many different sized apartments to fit the needs of each individual resident. Although aging-in-place gives seniors more independence, some find that their houses are too big to take care of by themselves or that they miss having a social support network. The newest updates for Swifthaven Community provide residents with both professional in-home care and social support within the local community – all while enjoying independent living.

According to the Administration for Community Living, up to 60% of seniors need long-term support or care. Because of those needs, residents and their support networks may have difficulty managing to help seniors remain at home.

Assisted living at Swifthaven Community has been updated to provide seniors with more comfortable and independent housing. One and two-bedroom apartments are available depending on the client’s preference. In addition, the Community’s team of professional support staff provides customized in-home care and companionship, so residents can feel comfortable and safe at all times.

For example, medication management assistance could involve keeping track of organization, dosages, reminders, and accompanying patients to doctors’ appointments. Housekeepers help with the cleaning demands of each day, and maintenance technicians are available to do any necessary repairs or upkeep.

About Swifthaven Community

The community aims to provide benefits that exceed those of living at home while giving residents immediate access to personalized care. In addition to units tailored for specific residents, the center offers several amenities designed to improve the quality of life for all clients. This includes an indoor heated swimming pool, community room, barber/beauty shop, and kitchenettes for residents’ convenience.

A community representative stated: “At Swifthaven, we empower our residents to live fulfilled and happy lives by encouraging independence and preserving dignity. Extra support is offered to residents who need additional care, and always with compassion. Our goal is to help people maintain their independence by always meeting their changing needs.”

UP Revenge? Remogat just wants to steady Maroons' ship

MANILA, Philippines -- Noy Remogat helped lead the way as University of the Philippines defeated last year's Finals tormentor De La Salle, 80-76, in the UAAP Season 89 men's basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena Sunday. Remogat fired a season-high 20 points including the insurance free throw in the last five seconds for the Fighting Maroons who held off the Green Archers fightback in the final canto. Asked if he's performance is fueled by thirst for revenge after last year's Finals heartbreak against La Salle, Remogat said he simply wanted to steady the ship for UP which snapped a 2-game skid. "I don't really have that hunger for revenge from last year," said Remogat. "After those last two losses, there’s something I want to achieve as a person and something we want to achieve as a team and that is to bounce back from those two losses and string together some wins." Remogat and the Fighting Maroons improved to 3-2 for a share of third place in the standings with the Adamson Soaring Falcons. UP looks to break that tie with Adamson on Wednesday and get a win run going. "We should set the tone in our practices," said Remogat. “But it wasn’t just me (today). Jacob (Bayla), James (Payosing) and our other leaders, Gani (Stevens) and Veejay (Pre), really stepped up, and the team responded.” Pre stepped up, indeed, and backstopped Remogat. The 6-foot-4 forward banged 19 points, seven rebounds, and three assits.
