Los Angeles, California Oct 17, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Need Treatment Now, a management company for multiple top-rated treatment facilities, has hired Mark W. Lamplugh, Jr., to serve as its next Chief Marketing Officer.

In this position, Lamplugh will be responsible for developing the company's overall marketing, branding, and advertising strategy; promoting awareness and understanding of addiction and mental health issues; and further curating the company's story and goals to help individuals live their best life.

"Today's world is different from yesterday's," said Lamplugh.  "It's more important than ever for companies to shape their brand and narrative before others do. I look forward to collaborating with the executive team and developing new and innovative ways to market the high-quality behavioral and mental health treatment services available to individuals and families struggling with addiction and mental health issues."

Behavioral and mental health issues are extremely common and impact millions each year, with only half of those impacted actually receiving treatment, according to the National Institute of Mental Health. Recent studies also show there's a direct correlation between substance use disorders and mental health issues, with one in four adults facing a combination of both at the same time.

"It is my life's passion to help others," said Joseph Grossman, Founder, and Chief Executive Officer.  "Since establishing my first sober living home in 2014, we have built a strong community of experts to help individuals overcome and navigate substance abuse through a holistic approach.  With Mark's expertise and passion, I'm confident our company will continue to increase awareness of the services we provide and, in turn, change the lives of those struggling to overcome behavioral and mental health issues."

Lamplugh, a fourth-generation former firefighter, has extensive experience in marketing, healthcare, and public safety. Prior to being selected for this position, he worked for Maryland Oncology Hematology as the Head of Marketing and Growth. He also serves as a board member for several non-profits - One World for Life, National Fire Heritage Center, and the Institute for Responder Wellness. He is also a published author for Entrepreneur Magazine, Addiction Pro, Better Marketing, and several other national publications. As a top marketing executive in the United States, Lamplugh has revolutionized many healthcare companies' ability to reach patients through an integrated marketing approach.

Need Treatment Now, Inc., a highly regarded management company in California, owns and operates Silicon Beach Treatment Center, Satori Health, Silicon Beach Sober Living, and DetoxLA. Each facility within the company is dedicated to understanding the challenges of behavioral and mental health issues and helping people find and earn back their independence, happiness, and health.

Eala faces tough opening test in WTA Ningbo Open return

MANILA, Philippines — Filipina netter Alex Eala faces a tough challenge upon her return to action at the Ningbo Open, which kicks off at the Ningbo Yinzhou Tennis Center. Based on the official draw released by tournament organizers, Eala will first face France's Diane Parry in the opening round of the WTA 500 event. The match between Eala and Parry is scheduled for 12 noon on Monday. This is their first-ever meeting on the WTA Tour. Also looming in Eala's draw are potential matchups against world No. 13 Diana Shnaider of Russia in the second round, world No. 11 Iva Jovic of the United States in the quarterfinals, and defending champion and world No. 1 Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan in the semifinals. Eala is aiming to bounce back at the Ningbo Open following a string of early exits across three consecutive tournaments. Her rough stretch began at the Singapore Open, where she was shown an early exit after falling to Russia's Tatiana Prozorova (6-4, 5-7, 3-6) in the opening round. This was followed by another setback against China's Wang Xiyu in the semifinals of the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, with a score of 6-4, 3-6, 3-6. Eala's frustration deepened when she suffered another early elimination at the Wuhan Open in China, absorbing a 6-4, 3-6, 3-6 defeat against China's Han Shi in the first round. All three players who defeated Eala hold lower WTA rankings. Moreover, a recurring pattern marked the Filipina netter's losses, where she would win the first set only to fall short in the final two frames. To ensure she is in top shape before stepping onto the court, Eala immediately went straight to intensive training upon arriving in Ningbo. TMT

Haaland brace extends Man City's winning start in Premier League

Haaland brace extends Man City's winning start in Premier League

MANCHESTER, United Kingdom — Erling Haaland struck twice as Manchester City defiantly extended their blistering start to the Premier League season with a 3-2 win against Ipswich on Saturday. Phil Foden put City ahead in the first half at the Etihad Stadium before Daizen Maeda grabbed a shock equaliser for Ipswich. Haaland netted before the interval and struck again after the break to take his tally for the season to 12. Zian Flemming's penalty came too late to stop City making it seven successive league victories. It was City's second win since the club were found guilty of more than 100 breaches of Premier League financial regulations last month. City, who are appealing against the decision, sit six points clear of champions Arsenal at the top of the table. The Gunners can close the gap if they win at Nottingham Forest on Sunday. City boss Enzo Maresca is the first manager to win his first seven games in charge in the Premier League. The Etihad stands were awash with inflatable bananas throughout as City's supporters continued to show their backing for the Abu Dhabi-owned club during their ongoing crisis. The blow-up fruit, a throwback to their supporters' craze from the late 1980s, has come to symbolise their defiance in the face of a potential massive points deduction or even expulsion from the Premier League if the appeal fails. City showed their spirit remains intact on the pitch as well and Foden gave the hosts the lead on 19 minutes. Jeremy Doku cut inside the from the left and pulled back for Foden who, in his first appearance since his red card at Old Trafford last month, turned home from eight yards. City's lead lasted just two minutes as Abdoul Ouattara released Maeda with a well-weighted ball down the right. The pass arced around the backtracking Marc Guehi and Maeda outpaced and the outmuscled the England centre-back to seize possession and sit Gianluigi Donnarumma down with a composed finish. But City regained their lead on 34 minutes when Mateo Kovacic reached the byline and pulled back for Haaland to power a header through Christian Walton's grasp. Nico O'Reilly went close after the restart with a header from a corner but Haaland made no mistake to grab his second on 69 minutes. Iliman Ndiaye created the opportunity with a strong run from deep before playing in the striker with a defence-splitting pass. Ouattara could not keep his footing as Haaland skipped past him and coolly beat Walton. Haaland thought he had claimed a hat-trick when he volleyed home after Ndiaye hit the bar, but his strike was disallowed by VAR for offside against Enzo Fernandez. VAR intervened again moments later, changing the mood of the game when Guehi was ruled to have fouled Abdul Fatawu in the area. Flemming dispatched the penalty but City held firm to show they won't be fazed on the pitch by the club's off-field woes.

Williams lifts Valkyries past Dream in WNBA Finals opener

SAN FRANCISCO, United States — Gabby Williams scored a game-high 26 points, including four key free throws in the final 1:18 as the Golden State Valkyries held off the Atlanta Dream 68-64 in game one of the WNBA Finals on Saturday. Williams, runner-up to Atlanta's Angel Reese in Defensive Player of the Year voting, has emerged as an offensive force for the Valkyries in the playoffs. She carried the scoring load on a tough shooting night for the hosts -- who didn't have another player score in double figures. She took some time to warm up, going scoreless in the first quarter as the Valkyries got off to a tentative start in front of a raucous crowd at Chase Center arena. "Once we all started having fun and the excitement got out, we started to kind of find our way," Williams, who erupted for 16 points in the second quarter, said in an on-court interview. "There was a lid on that basket tonight, but that's why we rely on our defense," she said. Golden State trailed by one with 1:18 remaining when Williams seized the rebound off a miss by Atlanta's Allisha Gray and was fouled by Reese. Williams made both free-throws to put the Valkyries up 65-64 and added another pair of free throws to seal the win with 4.1 seconds left. Gray, the Dream's leading scorer, returned after missing two games with a hand injury and scored 19 points. But she was scoreless in the fourth quarter, when Atlanta made just two of their 19 attempts from the floor. Reese added 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Rhyne Howard scored 12 for Atlanta. The Valkyries will host game two of the best-of-seven series on Monday. Both teams are chasing a first WNBA title. The Dream have come up empty in three prior trips to the Finals, most recently in 2013. The Valkyries, who last year became the first WNBA expansion franchise to reach the playoffs in their inaugural season, are now contending for the title in their second.
