BAYONNE, N.J. - November 9, 2021 - (Newswire.com)

Fluitec's proven DECON™ technology formed the foundation for the development of Mobil Solvancer. "This collaboration between ExxonMobil and Fluitec helps scale our patent-pending technology while bringing high-value, cost-effective solutions to Mobil's customer base. We are delighted to join forces with such a world-class organization and help fill a gap in the marketplace for such a value-add product," Pierre Vanderkelen, CEO of Fluitec.

As a part of continuing to deliver value to customers globally, Fluitec has worked closely with ExxonMobil to bring Mobil Solvancer to the North America market. This is an oil-soluble cleaner designed for gas and steam turbine applications, compressors and hydraulic systems. It can be added to in-service oils to quickly dissolve varnish and organic deposits. This helps to maintain system cleanliness and optimize reliability. It has one of the lowest* treat rates in the industry, which can extend protection of equipment for more than one year, thus allowing operators to optimize overhaul-to-overhaul periods.

Varnish affects most within our industry, from plant managers, maintenance managers to reliability engineers. Mobil Solvancer is engineered to provide a new way of easily reducing maintenance costs, increasing reliability and efficiency of an operation. Mobil Solvancer can assist in solving bearing temperature issues, sticking servos, filter blockages and minimize unexpected shutdowns. The combination of in-depth expertise and industry-leading technology from both of these leaders have worked together to develop a solution for this global challenge of varnish.

Sarah Parsons, North America Industrial Lubricants Brand Manager, ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants Company states, "When operating power generation and petrochemical equipment, maximizing productivity and enhancing reliability is critical to minimizing downtime and driving your bottom line. That's why we partnered with Fluitec, the industry's leading oil enhancement technology company, to develop Mobil Solvancer, a cost-effective cleaner that can help operators dissolve varnish and deposits that can cause long-term harm to systems while keeping their equipment running longer between overhauls. That means less downtime - both planned and unplanned."

Pueblo de Oro sets stage for LPGT’s high-stakes home stretch

MANILA, Philippines – A first Order of Merit crown is within Yvon Bisera’s reach, but Harmie Constantino stands in the way – and with three legs left in the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour season, the race for supremacy is shaping up as a down-to-the-wire battle. Bisera and Constantino lead a talented field heading into the ICTSI Pueblo de Oro Championship, which gets under way Monday (Oct. 12) at Pueblo de Oro Golf and Country Club in Cagayan de Oro.  The P1.25-million championship kicks off a three-leg Mindanao swing that will decide not only the season’s remaining tournament titles but also the coveted OOM crown. Armed with a pair of victories and three other strong finishes, Bisera has built a commanding position atop the season-long rankings, with total earnings of P439,150. But the margin offers little room for complacency, especially with Constantino, a former OOM champion, mounting a determined bid to reclaim the distinction she won in 2024. Constantino sits second with P377,100 after also delivering a runaway victory at Caliraya Springs, leaving her with a clear target as the Tour enters its decisive stretch. The final three legs offer ample opportunity to overhaul the standings, putting a premium on consistency and clutch performances when the pressure is at its highest. Bisera, for her part, has shown she can win in contrasting fashion. She opened her title run with a nerve-wracking three-way playoff victory at Lakewood before asserting her dominance at Pradera Verde, where she romped to a commanding seven-shot triumph. Those results, complemented by three other strong finishes, including a runner-up effort at Summit Point, have given her the upper hand in the OOM race. But the ace Davaoeña knows that a strong finish – not past accomplishments – will ultimately determine whether she can convert her season-long consistency into a maiden OOM title. The Mindanao swing, which will conclude at South Pacific and Apo in the next two weeks, thus presents Bisera with both an opportunity to consolidate her lead and a stern test of her ability to sustain her form under mounting pressure. Beyond the leading pair, several proven winners are eager to make their presence felt after campaigns marked by flashes of brilliance but not enough consistency to keep them regularly in contention. Princess Superal and Tiffany Lee are among those seeking to revive their title bids. Both have the credentials to challenge the field, but uneven results have kept them from producing the podium finishes their talent promises. A change of venue – snd the distinct demands of Pueblo de Oro – could provide the spark they need to turn their seasons around. The Cagayan de Oro layout offers a compelling test for the field, with natural ravines, rolling hills and five interconnected lakes shaping a course that rewards precision, sound course management and the ability to adapt. Panoramic views of the Bukidnon mountains add to its appeal, while occasional glimpses of Macajalar Bay from the back nine provide a striking backdrop to the competition. Hosting an LPGT event for the first time in a long while, Pueblo de Oro brings a different character to the Tour’s closing stretch. The venue hosted two Junior PGT events this year, including the North vs. South Finals, and its management has maintained the course in top condition year-round to ensure it remains competitive for tournaments of the LPGT’s caliber. The championship also offers a fresh opportunity for a formidable group of contenders looking to salvage their campaigns, build momentum and make a late push for honors. Reigning OOM champion Sarah Ababa heads the list of players seeking redemption, alongside multi-titled Chihiro Ikeda and Daniella Uy. They will be joined by Martina Miñoza, Pamela Mariano, Apple Fudolin, Velinda Castil, Kayla Nocum, Marvi Monsalve, Rev Alcantara, Eunhua Nam, Monica Mandario, Eva Miñoza and Angela Mangana, all capable of making a charge if they find their rhythm on the challenging layout. Four of the country’s leading amateurs will also test their skills against the professionals, adding another layer of intrigue to the championship. Ace Superal and Isabella Tabanas will be joined by JPGT standouts Rafella Batican and Precious Zaragosa, while club invitee Eleana Dumalaog will relish the opportunity to measure her game against the country’s top campaigners. Brandin Podziemski receives 5-year contract extension for $110M from Warriors

SAN FRANCISCO — Guard Brandin Podziemski signed a five-year rookie-scale contract extension with the Golden State Warriors worth $110 million that takes him through the 2031-32 season, according to a person with direct knowledge of the agreement. The person spoke on condition of anonymity Saturday night because the team didn't disclose financial details in announcing the extension. Podziemski had 18 points with three 3-pointers, seven rebounds and four assists over 26 minutes in a 111-106 preseason win against the Sacramento Kings. “For me it shows a sign of faith and trust on their end, wanting me here,” Podziemski said of his new deal. "I think for me I just owe it right back to them. They’re putting their trust and faith in me so I got to do the same and play that way each and every night.” Podziemski's deal includes a mutual option for the fifth season, meaning the sides could re-negotiate the fifth year or decide to go separate ways. “I'm thrilled for Brandin and his family, really happy for us," Kerr said. “Obviously, everything came together and it's a win-win. We think Brandin is a hell of a young player, a big part of our future, and he secures his future financially. And it's a deal that makes a lot of sense based on our numbers.... I think it's a good relief to get it done and go into the season where he can just focus on basketball. He should be very proud of the work he's put in to get to this place and put himself in this position.” The 23-year-old Podziemski was the only Warriors player and one of 18 in the entire NBA to appear in all 82 games last season, averaging career highs of 13.8 points and 45.5% shooting from the field to go with 5.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.08 steals over 28.5 minutes. “We’re thrilled to get an extension done with Brandin prior to the deadline,” Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy said. “Brandin has continued to improve and expand his game since he entered the league as a mid-first round pick, and we think his upward trajectory will only continue. He’s a durable, skilled, two-way player that makes our team better each time he takes the court.”

Lumbo seeks redemption as Miñoza joins ICTSI Pueblo hunt

Lumbo seeks redemption as Miñoza joins ICTSI Pueblo hunt

MANILA, Philippines – Coming off back-to-back runner-up finishes that exposed the fine line between victory and heartbreak, Jeffren Lumbo returns to the Philippine Golf Tour with renewed hunger and a steeled resolve, seeking to turn painful lessons into a breakthrough performance in the ICTSI Pueblo de Oro Championship, which blasts off Monday (Oct. 12) at the Pueblo de Oro Golf and Country Club in Cagayan de Oro. But the Sarangani ace will have his work cut out for him against a talent-laden field eager to seize the spotlight in the P2.5-million championship, with recent winners Art Arbole and Jhonnel Ababa leading the charge and golf legend Frankie Miñoza adding star power and prestige to the four-day tournament. Lumbo, whose lean frame belies his power off the tee, had two golden opportunities to claim his second career victory in the last two PGT stops. However, late-hole miscues and faltering finishes proved costly, allowing Arbole to clinch his maiden PGT title in Negros Occidental before Ababa ended a two-year title drought with a victory in Iloilo. The consecutive setbacks were particularly painful for Lumbo, who had put together four rounds of impressive golf in both tournaments only to fall short when the pressure mounted. Yet, rather than diminish his standing, the near-misses have underscored his potential as one of the Tour’s most dangerous emerging contenders – and given him added motivation to sharpen the decision-making and composure required to close out tight finishes. He is keeping his focus on the present, determined to put his best foot forward and enjoy the game. “Hindi ko na iniisip ’yung back-to-back second place ko papunta ng Pueblo de Oro. Basta focus lang ako sa laro ko at mag-enjoy,” said Lumbo. “Sana lang mag-click lahat para may chance na manalo,” he added. The confidence is backed by a strong run of results. After capturing his maiden PGT crown in last year’s season-ending ICTSI South Pacific Championship in a dramatic five-hole playoff against Russell Bautista, Lumbo has continued to establish himself among the circuit’s leading contenders, posting three Top 10 finishes in the first five legs of the current season, including a runner-up effort to Lloyd Go at Pinewoods. His recent performances suggest that another victory is within reach. The challenge now is to sustain his sharp play when the stakes are highest, particularly over the closing holes where patience, discipline and sound judgment often prove decisive. Still, Lumbo’s bid for redemption will be tested by a formidable cast of challengers, including the very players who denied him in his last two starts. Arbole and Ababa will be out to capitalize on their newfound momentum, hoping their recent triumphs will provide the confidence and rhythm needed to sustain another title charge. Miñoza, meanwhile, brings a special dimension to the tournament with his rare appearance in the PGT field. One of Philippine golf’s most celebrated figures, the veteran campaigner is expected to draw added attention to the championship, lending it distinction while testing himself against a new generation of professionals and rising talents. His participation also provides a compelling storyline beyond the battle for the trophy, as the seasoned campaigner takes on a field featuring established Tour winners, emerging contenders and promising amateurs. His presence adds further prestige to an event that promises four days of high-level competition at one of Mindanao’s premier golf venues. Also returning to the fold is Keanu Jahns, who is seeking to rebound from a near-miss in the DP World Tour Qualifying. He joins a strong lineup that includes former Tour standouts Clyde Mondilla, Rupert Zaragosa, Zanieboy Gialon and Guido van der Valk. Tony Lascuña and Reymon Jaraula, meanwhile, have added motivation of their own. The pair disputed the crown when Pueblo de Oro last hosted a PGT leg in 2019, with Jaraula emerging victorious to claim another career milestone. The Del Monte native now gets another crack at the title on familiar territory, while Lascuña – the Tour’s only five-time Order of Merit winner – arrives buoyed by a confidence-building victory in a recent senior tournament. A deep supporting cast further raises the stakes, with Dino Villanueva, Collin James Ryan Lam, Nilo Salahog, Randy Garalde, Ira Alido, Elee Bisera, Jerson Balasabas and seasoned campaigner Jay Bayron also in the hunt. The international challenge will be led by Fil-Am bets Jeremy Tandoy and Ivan Yabut, alongside foreign campaigners Lee Song, Collin Wheeler, Kim Tae Soo and Miki Ryoma. Ryoma, in particular, merits close attention after his strong showing in Iloilo, where he demonstrated the form needed to contend against the Tour’s top players. The championship will also showcase the next wave of talent, with leading amateurs Jed Dy, Jacob Rolida and John Bernis joining Junior PGT standouts Vito Sarines and Ralph Batican in a field that blends experience with youthful ambition. With Lumbo eager to erase the sting of two near-misses, recent champions intent on extending their winning runs, seasoned campaigners seeking another breakthrough and Miñoza lending his presence to the occasion, the Pueblo de Oro Championship shapes up as another compelling test of skill, nerve and consistency. For Lumbo, however, the mission is straightforward: turn promise into a second PGT title – and prove that the lessons of heartbreak can pave the way to triumph. TMT

Rizal Memorial Coliseum eyed as Center Court for first WTA 250

Rizal Memorial Coliseum eyed as Center Court for first WTA 250

MANILA, Philippines — The Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Malate, Manila is being eyed as the Center Court for the country's first WTA 250 Philippine Women's Open in November next year. Built in 1934, the Rizal Memorial Coliseum is adjacent to the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center which hosted the WTA 125 Philippine Women's Open last January. Philippine Tennis Association (PHILTA) Executive Director Tonette Mendoza said a meeting was already held to discuss this move. "We just had our first meeting on scheduling for the things that we have to do for the WTA 125 and the WTA 250," said Mendoza in a video posted by PHILTA Sunday. "We're hoping to make our Center Court the Rizal Coliseum." According to PHILTA's post which included the video interview of Mendoza, "the Rizal Memorial Coliseum was originally an open-air tennis venue known as the Rizal Memorial Tennis Stadium." Mendoza said the stadium, which was converted to an indoor venue after it was destroyed during the World War II, may serve its original tennis purpose again. "The WTA 250 is an outdoor event. So if it pushes through, we're hoping that the center court will be Rizal Coliseum as it was when it was originally built about 90 years ago," said Mendoza. She added: “Actually, the capacity of the Tennis Center’s center court is sufficient, since they require only around 3,000 seats for a WTA 250 event. But Filipinos are very enthusiastic, so of course, we want a bigger venue." Filipino tennis ace Alex Eala is expected to join the PWO 250 which will run from November 1 to 7 next year.

Alyssa Valdez celebrates PVL decade-long journey amid retirement speculations

MANILA, Philippines —Philippine volleyball icon Alyssa Valdez remains thrilled that, years after her career-defining stint with the Ateneo Blue Eagles, she is still playing the sport she loves. On the Premier Volleyball League’s (PVL) 10th anniversary, Valdez, who has been playing volleyball for nearly 20 years—sees her decade-long involvement in the league as a personal milestone. “It’s a very, very huge milestone for me because, in my career, I never really thought I would still be playing this long after graduating from college. And I never imagined that I would enjoy and love volleyball this much even after 10 years or more,” she said after Creamline’s win over Akari on Saturday night at the SM Seaside Arena Cebu. “I think the legacy… what we always practice in our Creamline team… I hope they see that when you enjoy doing what you love, everything will follow naturally—the wins and everything,” she added. Valdez’s rise to stardom started with Ateneo as she guided the team to consecutive titles in 2014 and 2015, with her explosive back-row attacks and precise cross-court swings soon earning her the nicknames “The Phenom” and “Bagyong Baldo.” In the professional ranks, Valdez has won all 11 championships with Creamline in the PVL. The 33-year-old hitter was also nostalgic about playing for Cebu, recalling that the last time she played in the Queen City of the South was when she was in college. “It’s so nice to be here in Cebu. It’s my first time playing in Cebu for the PVL. The last time I played here was still back in my Ateneo days… don’t even count how long ago that was.” “I’m very, very happy with how the turnout of people turned out, and wow—we can keep coming back here again and again because it really feels like Cebu loves volleyball so much. So thank you, thank you so much to everyone who supported us.” With over 19,000 spectators showing up for PVL’s opening day, Valdez did not anticipate that the league would fill the arena. “We were talking about how coach (Sherwin Meneses) said it would be really cold inside tomorrow because it’s a new arena and everything. But when we stepped in, that’s when it sank in for us how many people there were, and how hot it already was. So we’re really overwhelmed too.” “You know, at this point, after 10 years of playing in the PVL, it’s still overwhelming to be surrounded by this much support and love. We just want to say thank you to all the Cebuanos. We really hope you enjoyed the game tonight.” With rumors of retirement circulating on social media, Valdez has one thing that she’s certain of—and that she’s still enjoying playing volleyball.  “Maybe as players, we’ll love our job even more and work even harder so that we can stay here longer, 10 years or more, or even 20 years or more, for all of us, and for the future generations of athletes and volleyball players.”

Eala on track for Alexandrova rematch or Fernandez rubber match

Filipino sensation Alex Eala is on track for a rematch against Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova or a rubber match against Canadian Leylah Fernandez at the WTA 1000 Wuhan Open in China. World No. 18 Eala needs to get past a qualifier in her opening match likely on Monday before facing either No. 28 Alexandrova or No. 26 Fernandez who is of Filipino descent. Alexandrova and Fernandez were pitted against each other as the draw revealed on Saturday. Tournament No. 13 seed Eala battled Alexandrova at the Abu Dhabi Open quarterfinals where she fell to the latter, 3-6, 3-6, last February. Meanwhile, Eala first took on Fernandez at the Stuttgart Open round of 32, where she fell to the fellow lefty, 1-6, 4-6, last April. Eala exacted revenge on Fernandez at the Mubadala DC Open, dethroning the Fil-Canadian in the round of 16, 6–2, 7–6(1), and eventually ruled the tournament for her first WTA title last August. In the doubles of this Wuhan tournament, Eala will reunite with close pal Zeynep Sönmez. The Filipino-Turkish tandem will face the Ukrainian duo of Anhelina Kalinina and Dayana Yastremska in the first round. Eala and Sönmez last teamed up at the Madrid Open last May in Spain where they made a second round finish. Meanwhile, Eala is set to slip a spot to No. 19 in the WTA rankings on Monday. The live rankings on Sunday revealed Eala's slight descent from her career-high rank No. 18. Elise Mertens leaping from No. 19 to No. 14 bumped Eala down the rankings. Eala currently has 2,276 total ranking points.
