Artoco Announces Next-Phase NFT Product Roadmap, Expanding Into Staking, Fractionalization, Rental and Digital Asset Trading

Oct 10, 2026

As digital asset applications expand beyond ownership verification and recordkeeping, Artoco plans to broaden its NFT product ecosystem across asset management, usage and circulation

Colorado, United States, October 10, 2026 -- Digital technology company Artoco Ltd today announced its next-phase product roadmap, outlining plans to advance development across NFT staking, NFT fractionalization, NFT rental and a proprietary digital asset trading platform as the company expands its capabilities across digital asset management, usage and circulation.

Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Colorado, Artoco currently has 3 million registered users worldwide. In recent years, the company has continued to develop infrastructure around NFT technology, blockchain-based authentication, digital asset ownership verification and asset traceability, while exploring applications across digital copyright, education, charitable initiatives and digital content.

As its user base expands and digital asset use cases continue to evolve, Artoco is extending its product strategy beyond foundational authentication and asset recordkeeping toward a broader range of NFT management and application scenarios.

Extending Digital Asset Ownership Into Broader NFT Applications

After an early period in which the NFT market was largely associated with digital art, collectibles and secondary-market trading, industry attention has increasingly shifted toward asset authenticity, verifiability, utility and long-term application.

Against this backdrop, Artoco plans to explore additional ways for verified digital assets to be managed and used across its ecosystem.

The company’s next-phase roadmap is expected to progressively connect the following areas:

On-chain ownership verification → Digital asset management → NFT staking → NFT fractionalization → NFT rental → Market trading

The roadmap is intended to connect Artoco’s existing blockchain-based authentication and asset-recording capabilities with a broader range of NFT applications and future digital asset circulation infrastructure.

Advancing NFT Staking Applications

Artoco plans to advance the development of NFT staking-related functionality, exploring additional ways for blockchain-verified digital assets to be used while they remain held by their owners.

Traditional NFT applications have largely centered on display, collection and trading. Through new product mechanisms, Artoco aims to explore how verified NFTs may participate in a wider range of asset-management and platform-based use cases after ownership has been established on-chain.

This direction is also expected to build on Artoco’s existing work in blockchain authentication, asset traceability and open technical architecture.

Specific product mechanisms, availability and supported markets will be determined gradually based on development progress and applicable regulatory requirements.

Exploring NFT Fractionalization

NFT fractionalization is another area included in Artoco’s next-phase product roadmap.

Traditional NFTs are typically held and transferred as complete digital assets. For certain higher-value assets or assets associated with specific digital rights, full ownership may create limitations in terms of participation and liquidity.

Artoco plans to explore technical mechanisms that may allow certain rights associated with eligible NFTs to be represented in smaller digital units, creating more flexible approaches to participation, management and circulation.

The significance of this model extends beyond changing the unit in which an NFT is held or transferred. It may also create new ways to connect digital ownership records, rights management and market circulation.

Because fractionalized digital assets may be subject to different regulatory requirements across jurisdictions, Artoco intends to develop and introduce any related functionality in accordance with applicable laws, market conditions and product readiness.

Expanding NFT Utility Through Rental

In addition to staking and fractionalization, Artoco plans to explore NFT rental functionality.

Unlike the outright sale or transfer of an NFT, a rental model focuses on temporary usage rights. This may allow an asset owner to retain underlying ownership while granting another user access to certain rights or functions for a defined period.

Artoco plans to further study how this model could be applied to digital content, digital copyright, membership rights and other digital assets with usage-based characteristics.

This direction reflects a broader shift in NFT applications, where value is increasingly being explored not only through ownership and trading, but also through usage, authorization and circulation.

Proprietary Digital Asset Trading Platform Included in the Next-Phase Roadmap

As it expands its NFT application capabilities, Artoco also plans to develop a proprietary digital asset trading platform.

The platform is expected to form part of Artoco’s next-stage digital asset infrastructure, further connecting its existing blockchain-based ownership verification and asset-management capabilities with future NFT applications and potential market circulation.

Through this development, Artoco aims to progressively build a product architecture spanning digital asset creation, verification, management, usage and circulation.

Digital asset trading activities are subject to different legal and regulatory frameworks across jurisdictions. The categories of assets supported, trading mechanisms, user eligibility and geographic availability of any future platform will therefore be determined in accordance with applicable laws and actual product-development progress.

Moving Digital Assets From Recordkeeping Toward Application

By including NFT staking, fractionalization, rental and a proprietary trading platform in its next-phase roadmap, Artoco is extending its product ecosystem beyond digital asset authentication and recordkeeping toward a broader digital asset application layer.

The company has previously explored applications across digital copyright, education, charitable initiatives and digital content, while continuing to expand the use of blockchain authentication, asset traceability and digital trust infrastructure.

Going forward, Artoco plans to continue developing a product ecosystem spanning ownership verification, management, usage and circulation, while introducing related capabilities in line with technological development, user demand and regulatory requirements across different markets.

EJ Obiena urges better facilities to sustain Philippine sports' golden era

MANILA, Philippines — Olympian EJ Obiena believes Philippine sports are in their golden era, but access to quality facilities remains a major limiting factor for athletes. The two-time Asian Games gold medalist emphasized the critical need for better support during a recent Committee on Sports hearing. “I think sports in general, accessibility is the key. I think Philippine sports are in their golden age right now. We have so many world-class athletes, and I am just very proud that I am part of this era. I hope it gets better and better,” Obiena said.  “I think what’s limiting us is the access to facilities. It is one of the reasons why I train outside, not just because of the knowledge there, but also the current situation of the facilities that we have.” Obiena understood that everyone is trying to upscale the sports program, but compared to the other countries, the scale of support is way too different. “I think everybody is doing their best. I have traveled from quite different countries, and I understand that the support in our country is not as big as what I said. In terms of the general budget…” Obiena trained at the University of Santo Tomas athletics team before he moved to Formia, Italy in 2014 to train under renowned Ukrainian coach Vitaly Petrov. He stayed in Italy for more than a decade, where it shaped him into the first-ever Filipino pole vaulter to compete in the Olympics in 2020. In 2026, Obiena moved to Athens, Greece, where he began training under coach Marcin Szczepanski alongside Emmanouil Karalis. He further shared that he holds a pole vault clinic with the brands he partnered with. A total of 21 young pole vaulters in Ilocos and around 18 in Tagum.  “This is just my small way… Hopefully, this will be an ongoing thing we can sustain… Continuous flow of athletes for our pole vaulting event, because I really want to make Philippines a powerhouse in this event, and hopefully in track and field as well.”

Jahns returns sharper, hungrier for PGT crown at Pueblo

MANILA, Philippines — Keanu Jahns returns to the Philippine Golf Tour with his game a notch sharper and his hunger for victory even greater as he shoots for an elusive win in the circuit’s final stages. The ICTSI Pueblo de Oro Championship unwraps on Oct. 12 in Cagayan de Oro, with Jahns expected to put his long, powerful game to good use on Pueblo de Oro’s open layout and finally break into this year’s PGT winner’s circle. The Fil-German also brings with him a boost in confidence from his recent campaign in the DP World Tour Qualifying, where he came within two strokes of securing one of the coveted Top 13 spots. Although he fell short in the final round in Denmark, Jahns showed he had the game to contend, staying in the hunt through the first three rounds before wavering on the last day. More importantly, the experience gave him a valuable glimpse of the level required to compete on a bigger stage. Jahns hopes to carry that experience – and the lessons gained from it – into Pueblo de Oro, where he seeks to turn another strong showing into the victory that has eluded him this season. A three-time PGT winner last year, including the season-ending Match Play Championship, Jahns has come close in five starts this year but has yet to capture a title. He has posted three Top 5 finishes, highlighted by a third-place effort at Lakewood and a fourth-place finish at Pradera Verde. He also tied for fourth in his most recent PGT appearance at Summit Point before embarking on his bid to reach the lucrative DP World Tour through a series of qualifiers. But Jahns will have plenty of formidable challengers at Pueblo de Oro, where another fiercely contested four-day battle is expected to unfold. The last several PGT legs have produced tight, drama-filled finishes, and the most recent stop in Iloilo was no exception. Jhonnel Ababa endured a tournament-long test of will and character before displaying poise in the stretch run to outmaneuver Jeffren Lumbo and snap a two-year title drought in the circuit organized by Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc. That victory gave the Apo ace added momentum heading into Pueblo de Oro, but a host of other contenders are equally motivated to claim a share of PGT glory with only three legs remaining this season, including the South Pacific and Apo legs, both set in Davao later this month. Aside from Jahns and Ababa, the field features a mix of seasoned champions and emerging contenders led by reigning Order of Merit winner Angelo Que, already a two-time champion this year, and Tony Lascuña, fresh from a pro-am tournament triumph. Former leg winners Rupert Zaragosa, Reymon Jaraula, Guido van der Valk and Lumbo are also expected to contend, along with Negros Occidental first-time champion Art Arbole. Russell Bautista, Ryan Monsalve, Jonas Magcalayo, Jeremy Tandoy and Ivan Yabut, meanwhile, are eager to test themselves against the established names and add more firepower to an already deep field. Foreign bidders Kim Tae Soo, Chonkoo Kang and Lee Song further add to the competitive mix, setting the stage for another high-quality, closely fought championship at Pueblo de Oro. TMT

No first-round bye for projected No. 13 seed Eala at Wuhan

No first-round bye for projected No. 13 seed Eala at Wuhan

MANILA, Philippines — Due to a smaller draw, projected No. 13 seed Alex Eala won't receive a first-round bye at the WTA 1000 Wuhan Open in China. The Filipino tennis ace will compete in the tournament -- her first Tour event after a bronze medal finish at the 20th Asian Games in Japan -- slated from October 12 to 18. Unlike most 1000 events where 96 players make up the field and the top 32 players receive first-round byes, Wuhan is limited to a 56-player draw. In this case, only the top eight get to skip the first round and start their campaign in the second. The same rule applies to the only two other 1000 events with a 56-player draw in Doha and Dubai. Thus, world No. 18 Eala won't have the bye she used to have in previous 1000 events. The 56-player draw -- comprised of 43 direct entrants, 8 qualifiers, 4 widlcards, and 1 special exemption -- is also the reason why Eala had to go through the qualifiers last year. Eala was No. 58 at the time and therefore could not get a direct entry. She lost to Moyuka Uchijima in the first round of the qualifiers last year, 4-6, 6-3, 2-6. This year, Eala is projected to be seeded five places higher than her actual ranking due to the withdrawals of five higher-ranked players. World No. 1 Elena Rybakina (foot), No. 4 and last year's champ Coco Gauff (fatigue), No. 11 Amanda Anisimova (wrist), No. 15 Victoria Mboko (knee), and No. 17 Naomi Osaka (change of schedule) pulled out of the competition. World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka, No. 3 Jessica Pegula, No. 5 Mirra Andreeva, No. 6 Linda Noskova, No. 7 Elina Svitolina, No. 8 Karolina Muchova, No. 9 Iga Swiatek, and No. 10 Marta Kostyuk made the top eight, in that order, and will be the ones to get first-round byes. The singles draw ceremony was scheduled for Saturday at 4 p.m. After the Asian Games, Eala went to France for Paris Fashion Week on October 5. The 21-year-old also appeared in tennis great Maria Sharapova's podcast "Pretty Tough". Last Thursday, the Wuhan Open shared photos of Eala training already.
