About the project Arrival

The "Arrival" project will present the systematic work of "Crypto ZR" incorporating internet discussions regarding crypto art, attributed to the discussion on language, civilisation, and communication in the film "Arrival".

Somewhere between the old and new world, Crypto ZR will take you to another place based on algorithms, crypto, virtual, digital, anonymous, and decentralised, referenced as the "portal to the metaverse". The metaverse era rethinks the world of economy, concordance, environment, resources, ideology, computational propaganda, viruses, and human nature.

These are relevant to the various situations in which Crypto ZR is presented at work and through time. The "Arrival" Project, too, is time-based and uses technology and art to understand the power of human connection.

Crypto ZR (Jiaying Liu) has experience working at Tencent headquarters as the Chief Product Designer of Global SNS in the International Business Department.
In 2017 she founded a blockchain enterprise and established Singapore Foundation ProChain.

2020 received a master of fine arts degree from China Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 2021, the Guardian Art Center hosted the major solo exhibition Crypto ZR: Cookie Cookie. Followed by CRYPTO ZR: COOKIE COOKIE 2.0 in Venice, 2022.

Li Zhenhua has been active in the artistic field since 1996. His practice mainly concerns curation, art creation, and project management. Since 2010 he has been the nominator for the Summer Academy at the Zentrum Paul Klee Bern (Switzerland) and The Prix Pictet (Switzerland). He is a member of the international advisory board for the exhibition "Digital Revolution" at the Barbican Centre in the UK in 2014, and many more.

Since 2000 focused on curating and dialogue with filmmakers and documentary filmmakers from China since 2004 involved in CIFF. 2015 producer of JU Anqi's film Poet on a Business Trip. 2010 curated Heat: ZHANG Yuan solo show in Nanjing, China. 2007 producer of SHEN Shaomin's documentary film I am Chinese.
Since 2003 worked as a jury in the film and arts field, such as Shorti (Spain 2003), Napolis Film Festival (Italy 2006), Transmediale 2010 (Berlin, Germany 2009), CCAA (Beijing, China 2012), CIFF (Nanjing, China 2012), Fantoche (Switzerland 2012), Art Award China (Beijing, China 2015-2016), 2021 KCC UK X Germany Open Call (Germany & UK 2021), DAAD: Fellows of the Berlin Artists-in-Residence Programme 2022(Germany 2021).
Li Zhenhua has edited several artists' publications, including "Yan Lei: What I Like to
Do" (Documenta13, 2012), "Hu Jieming: One Hundred Years in One Minute" (2010), "Feng Mengbo: Journey to the West" (2010), and "Yang Fudong: Dawn Mist, Separation Faith" (2009). A collection of his art reviews was published under "Text" in 2013.

Curator's note

Crypto ZR is set to present its newest project, Arrival, at the world-renowned Saatchi Gallery in London. From May 26th to 28th, this revolutionary project will be showcased for the first time.

The Arrival Project, which is attributed to the discussion of language, civilization, and communication in the film "Arrival," is also attributed to the discussion in the field of internet and crypto art: consensus and decentralization. The Arrival Project will present the systematic work of Crypto ZR over the years and try to show how the Crypto ZR crypto-art universe works.

Crypto ZR will take you to another world based on algorithms, crypto, virtual, digital, anonymous, and decentralised. I call it the "portal to the metaverse", similar to the intermediate station where NEO stops in the movie "The Matrix". We are in the same position, somewhere between the old and new worlds.

We must rethink this new world of economy, concordance, environment, resources, ideology, computational propaganda, viruses, and human nature.
Neither technology nor art, but the more subtle correlations and the anthropocentrism dilemma.

At the same time, the current state of feminism under the dominance of technology, the pan-gender, genderless issues, and how they are understood and integrated with the medium and community relations can be borrowed in our METAVERSE era.

Technological control and the art of reflection and rebellion often come from the tension between the constructor and the user. Similarly, it reacts to human perception and human discovery.

These are relevant to the various situations in which Crypto ZR is presented at work and through time. The Arrival Project, too, is time-based work. The beauty of both technique and art also comes from time-based changes. The human connection to nature, animals, and everything in the world is formed by the perception of time and the aging of the body.

Crypto ZR is not only a user of technology but also a provocateur who reflects on what is possible with technology, a post-90s Asian woman, and a young entrepreneur and artist who believes that art is the place to be.
